
Prepare for an Unforgettable Precision Rifle Challenge at Camp Ripley!
This October, we’re bringing a match designed for shooters of all experience levels—whether you're new to the field or a seasoned competitor. While this match will still test your skills, it will be less physically demanding than our previous events. If you’re ready for a challenge that focuses more on precision and tactical decision-making than physical exertion, this is the match for you!
Expect an engaging and difficult field match that offers a perfect balance of complexity and accessibility. We’ll focus on testing your skills in real-world scenarios, where precision shooting and performing under stress are key. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced shooter, you'll find this event to be a fun, challenging, and memorable experience.
Match Format:
Dates: October 24-26
Location: Camp Ripley, MN (Just 2 hours away from MSP airport)
Duration: 2-Day Match
Lodging: Inexpensive on-site lodging will be available through the base.
Team Composition: 2-Person Teams
Primary Shooter: Bolt-Action Rifle
Secondary Shooter: Semi-Auto Carbine
Firearm Specifications:
Bolt-Action Rifle: Calibers permitted include .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.8x54.
Carbine: Must be a semi-automatic .223/5.56, 308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor. No optical restrictions.
Pistols: Each shooter must carry a 9mm pistol for close-range engagements.
Targets:
Types: A mix of paper, reactive steel, and fixed steel with indicators.
Distances: Engagements will range from close quarters up to 1,400 meters.
Ammunition Recommendations:
Rifle: Approximately 150 rounds per shooter.
Carbine: Approximately 200 rounds per shooter.
Pistol: Approximately 150 rounds per shooter.
It’s advisable to bring extra ammunition to accommodate potential re-engagements.
Course Details:
Movement: Competitors will carry all necessary gear throughout the course.
Stage Timing: Each stage will be timed to add a competitive element, but don’t worry—this isn’t a foot race. Focus on making accurate and deliberate shots.
Scoring: Based on total time, including penalties for misses and failures to engage targets. We’ll be looking for consistency and smart decision-making, not just speed.
Elevation: Camp Ripley is situated at an altitude of approximately 1,200 feet above sea level.
Why You Should Compete:
Though this will be a difficult and complex match with our unique formula of “Chaos Concepts” Stressors, this event will still be beginner-friendly, with challenges that focus on marksmanship, tactical thinking, and learning through doing.
No intense physical endurance required—just a solid foundation in shooting and the willingness to push your boundaries.
You’ll compete alongside a mix of experienced military shooters and newcomers, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
